Machu Picchu

As i was surfing the internet i dicovered about Machu Picchu, one of the seven wonders of the world. The history of this place is thruly amazing.Machu Picchu is actually a name given to the city built by Incan Emperor PachacĂștec in the 15th century. The name Machu Picchu was chosen as the city was situated in the clouds on the mountain known as Machu Picchu ("old mountain"). This extraordinary settlement lies halfway up the Andes Plateau, deep in the Amazon jungle and above the Urubamba River. It is predicted probably to be abandoned by the Incas because of a smallpox outbreak and, after the Spanish defeated the Incan Empire. The city remained 'lost' for over three centuries. It was only rediscovered by Hiram Bingham in 1911. Machu Picchu was built in the classical Inca style, with polished dry-stone wall. Its primary buildings are the Intihuatana, the Temple of the Sun, and the Room of the Three Windows. These are located in what is known by archaeologists as the Sacred District of Machu Picchu. It was very interesting to know more about this historical place.

CHOCTALK

Hi there,
Here im going to share about an interesting article which i found from the most informative cum enjoyable magazine,Reader's Digest. The title of the article was Choctalk.Im very sure everyone are able to guess easily that the article is all about chocolate. This article was mind-capturinng to me as im a great chocolate lover. The article says the taste of chocolate can make us fall in love with it.And i agree with this statement as im a chocoholic.Chocolate has both it's pros & cons.First of all, chocolate is well known for medicational purposes due to the contents. For an instance, chocolate contains caffeine, theobromine and phenylethylamine, which can raise levels of endorphins.Next, chocolate is considered as a healthy food.Chocolate contains very high levels of antioxidant compounds in it.Adding to this, chocolate is a significant source of essential nutrients such as calcium and magnesium. As we know, practise moderation in everything including intake of chocolates.Chocolate can be included in a healthy diet as long as plenty of fruits & vegetables are being added in the diet day.It is adviseable that, to obtain the benefits of chocolates without adding too much of fats in our diet,we should limit ourselves to 25g per day. Thus,as a conclusion we must enjoy the luxurious taste of chocolate to stay happy and at the same limit the intake. So this is what the article was all about..

Uni rape case unravelled

Hello,
Last wednesday i read an article from Malaysian Today, dated august 21-27, which seemed to be interesting as the title was uni rape case unravelled. This article was about email accusing foreign student from a well-known local university involved with an rape case of female college students. In that email,it was alleged that a local female student was kidnapped by several international students from African country and then gang-raped.It was said that the university alleged to not only have knowledge of this matter, but also to have covered it up. This article caught my attention because, first of all it was a news about university students & secondly in this articl, the students and the former students of this university were given a chance to raise their voice. Some of them agreed with the misbehave of these foreign students as there is a vast difference betweeen their culture and the local one. Some says they disbelieves this email because some group of students tend to spread rumours as to revenge.Overall,it was said although the truth could not be one hundread percent uncovered, there is much doubt as to the truth of the claims in the email. In a nutshell, this article has given me awareness to keep myself alert about my surroundings.
